About Teresa Ngigi

Teresa W. Ngigi is an international Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Expert who specializes in Trauma Informed Care.
She is originally from Kenya, but lives in Italy with her family, a husband – Gianni, and two teenage children – Harriet and Carsten.
She holds a BEd in Psycho-pedagogy, a Higher Diploma in Psychological Counselling, a Masters degree in Organizational Leadership and Management, a PhD in Psychology and Culture, and a Post-Doctorate in Trauma Informed Care.
She has written several articles as well as media interviews. Her published Doctoral Thesis is on Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy – It`s Use with East African Immigrant Women in Trieste, Italy.
Her latest book is entitled Breaking the Cycle – the Role of Auntie Rosie in Trauma Informed Care.
Teresa has traveled to several countries sensitizing and training people on Mental Health, with a special emphasis on Trauma. These countries include Sierra Leone, Kenya, Italy, Liberia, Senegal, Somalia, Somaliland, Namibia, Lesotho, Serbia, Austria, Germany, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, among others.
Teresa’s main goal is to make a difference in people’s lives, as well as offer hope that it is possible to break the bonds that prevent them from being fully alive. Each of us has all it takes to live the life they choose, and awareness helps us to break the cycle and live free, responsible lives.
